Davido has revealed why “B4 B4” almost didn’t make the final tracklist of his latest album, Oriadé, despite the song becoming one of the fan favorites on the project.
Speaking during a recent interview with Carter Efe, the Afrobeats superstar disclosed that “B4 B4” was originally a song by Mayorkun and FOLA. According to Davido, Mayorkun later sent him the record and invited him to add a verse.
“They put me on the song. Na Mayorkun & FOLA at first, then Mayorkun sent it to me that he wants me on the song. When I did my verse, Mayorkun said I can have it for my album,” Davido explained.
The singer also revealed that he was unsure about adding “B4 B4” to Oriadé because the album had already been completed. However, Israel DMW convinced him to include the song.
“I had already finished the album and I wasn’t sure if ‘B4 B4’ would get on it. But Israel DMW said, ‘Oga the song sweet oh, abeg.’ But at least he didn’t leak it like ‘Flex My Soul,’” Davido joked.
Davido’s revelation has sparked fresh reactions from fans, with many praising “B4 B4” as one of the standout tracks on Oriadé. The story also gives fans a closer look at how the collaboration between Davido, Mayorkun, and FOLA helped shape one of the album’s biggest songs.
