The Nigerian police are now actively looking into what caused the death of Mohbad.
On Saturday, September 17, 2023, the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IG), Kayode Egbetokun, and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, put together a special team to officially start an inquiry into the tragic passing of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, the famous Nigerian musician.
For this important investigation, a team of experienced detectives from the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has been carefully chosen. Their main goal is to find out what happened in the unclear circumstances surrounding the death of this beloved figure in the Nigerian music industry.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, conveyed in a statement released just yesterday,
“We encourage family members or close associates with valuable information to approach the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to assist in this process,” the statement further read, adding that individuals should “refrain from making statements or engaging in activities that could jeopardise the ongoing investigation.”
The statement also urged caution, warning individuals against making statements or engaging in activities that might jeopardise the ongoing investigation.
Today, on September 18, 2023, the public became even more interested in this mysterious case when a video surfaced on X (formerly known as Twitter). This video showed the emotional moment when Mohbad’s parents and other family members came together with Nigerian police officers to officially kickstart the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the unexpected passing of the cherished Nigerian singer.
