Jam TheBrain Releases Debut Studio Album “RESILIENCE”
Gabonese-Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Jam TheBrain has released his debut studio album, RESILIENCE, a 12-track project that reflects on struggle, growth, ambition, self-belief and the determination to keep moving forward.
Born Jean Aime Moukouti, Jam TheBrain has developed a sound that brings together Afrobeats, Afro-R&B, Amapiano and contemporary African pop. His music draws from his African roots and experiences in the diaspora, while his songwriting explores themes of love, vulnerability, identity, personal struggles and the different experiences that shape a person’s journey.

Released on September 18, 2026, RESILIENCE marks an important new chapter for the artist. The album takes its name from a quality that runs through both the music and Jam TheBrain’s personal journey — the ability to keep going when life does not go according to plan.
Across the 12-track project, Jam TheBrain explores struggle, heartbreak, ambition, self-belief, survival and growth, creating a body of work centered on perseverance and the courage to continue moving forward.
The album also reflects the different places that have shaped Jam TheBrain. His journey has taken him from Gabon to Canada and now into a new chapter in Nigeria, with music serving as a bridge between these experiences. He writes and performs in English, French and Ghisir, bringing a multicultural perspective to his music and storytelling.
A significant part of RESILIENCE is its connection to the Nigerian music scene, with the album featuring collaborations with Teni, Terry Apala and Hotkeed.
The project’s Nigerian collaborations include “Duck Goose” featuring Teni, a breakup record about letting go of people who never truly loved you; “Dunno” featuring Terry Apala, which was recorded during a single afternoon session; and “Strong” featuring Hotkeed, one of the album’s most personal songs, built around advice passed down to Jam TheBrain from his mother.

These collaborations add different sounds and perspectives to the album while connecting Jam TheBrain’s story with the wider Nigerian music scene. They also reflect the album’s broader message that strength can come from different places, cultures and experiences.
RESILIENCE follows several important stages in Jam TheBrain’s musical journey. In 2017, he gained wider exposure after appearing as a contestant on the second season of La Voix Afrique Francophone. He went on to release his debut independent EP, Premiers pas, in 2019, followed by the 2023 EP TOI.
In February 2026, he released If You Knew (Si Vous Saviez), a seven-track EP that explored themes of judgment, hidden struggles, empathy and resilience. RESILIENCE builds on that progression, expanding those ideas into his first studio album.
Beyond its collaborations and different musical influences, RESILIENCE offers a personal look at an artist continuing to find his voice across different cultures and stages of life. The album turns difficult experiences into songs about growth, survival and the decision to keep pursuing a dream.
With its 12 tracks spanning Gabon, Canada and Nigeria, RESILIENCE introduces Jam TheBrain’s latest chapter while bringing together the sounds, experiences and people that have helped shape his journey so far.
