August 19, 2026

A disagreement between Nigerian music stars Davido and Wande Coal turned into a heated social media exchange on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, drawing reactions from fans across the internet.

The issue centres on an unreleased version of Wande Coal’s “Come My Way” featuring Davido. What started with Davido explaining why the collaboration never came out soon developed into a public back-and-forth between both artists.

Here’s the story behind their ongoing beef.

How the Davido and Wande Coal Beef Started

The conversation began after a clip from Davido’s appearance on the Uncut podcast circulated online.

During the interview, Davido spoke about recording a verse for Wande Coal’s “Come My Way.” According to him, Wande Coal approached him for the collaboration and he recorded a “stupid hard” verse.

Davido claimed the plan later changed, with Wande Coal choosing to release the original version first and save their collaboration for a possible remix. Davido said he was not interested in that arrangement, and the version featuring him was never officially released.

Wande Coal Responds to Davido

Wande Coal later took to X to challenge Davido’s account of what happened, explaining that “Come My Way” already had a planned release date and strategy.

He wrote:

“Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan. That song fkin did well without you on it bruv!!!”

His response quickly gained attention and took the disagreement beyond the original podcast conversation.

Davido later continued speaking about the situation, accusing Wande Coal of “acting like a baby” while suggesting that the singer had recently tried to reach him privately.

He then shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation dated July 22, where a mutual contact reportedly wrote:

“Baddest Wande Coal said he wants your number can I give him?”

The screenshot added another twist to the disagreement as conversations around the two artists continued online.

As of the time of writing, neither Davido nor Wande Coal has publicly announced that the issue has been resolved.
