Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho could leave the club during the summer transfer window, with talks already underway over a possible permanent transfer.
The 22-year-old winger did not report for the first phase of Chelsea’s pre-season training as the club works with his representatives to find a new destination. Alonso admitted there is interest from several clubs and hopes the situation is resolved in the best way for everyone involved.
Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United last summer, but he struggled to secure a regular starting place. Reports suggest Chelsea are looking for a permanent deal and have placed an asking price of around £42.5 million (€50 million) on the Argentine international.
Italian side AS Roma are among the clubs interested in signing Garnacho, while teams from the Premier League and Saudi Pro League are also monitoring his situation. More developments are expected before the transfer window closes.
