Real Madrid have officially submitted a request to UEFA over the ongoing Negreira case, asking the European football governing body to take disciplinary action against Barcelona. According to reports, the Spanish club is also seeking the removal of titles Barcelona won during the period covered by the investigation.
Real Madrid said it presented UEFA with evidence relating to Barcelona’s payments to former referees’ committee vice-president José María Enríquez Negreira, arguing that the matter raises serious concerns about the integrity of football competitions.
Barcelona have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that the payments were for refereeing consultancy services and did not influence match officials or results. The club continues to defend its position as legal proceedings in Spain remain ongoing.
UEFA has not announced any decision on Real Madrid’s request, and the Negreira case is still under investigation.
