Odumodublvck Says Afrobeats Has Grown From a ‘Big 3’ to a ‘Big 7’

October 21, 2025

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has stirred fresh conversations in the music scene after declaring that Afrobeats has outgrown its popular “Big 3” classification.

In a recent video clip recorded inside a car on Sunday, October 19, 2025, the rapper confidently stated that Afrobeats now has a “Big 7,” highlighting how much the genre has evolved over the years.

According to Odumodublvck, the list now includes Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide, Tems, Rema, and Asake — a powerful mix of pioneers and new generation stars who have shaped the sound and global influence of African music.

“I’d like to make a case for the Big 3, I think it’s Big 7,” Odumodublvck said in the viral clip, naming each artist with conviction.

For years, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy have carried the “Big 3” tag as the leading forces in Afrobeats with global hits, sold out stadium tours and major awards. However, Odumodublvck’s statement recognizes the impact of artists like Olamide, a respected street icon and mentor, and newer stars such as Tems, Rema, and Asake, who are redefining the sound on the world stage.

Tems has earned global acclaim with her Grammy win and chart-topping collaborations, while Rema’s record-breaking single Calm Down continues to dominate charts internationally. Meanwhile, Asake has become one of the most influential figures in modern Afrobeats, blending Fuji, amapiano, and street sounds to global success.

Odumodublvck’s declaration has since gone viral, sparking debates among fans and music lovers about who truly belongs in the “Big 7.”

As Afrobeats continues to expand across the globe, his statement highlights one thing — the genre’s growth has gone far beyond three names, and a new era of stars is leading the charge.
