Nigerian singer Shoday has shared why he believes street-hop star Portable isn’t going to fade out of the music scene anytime soon.
Speaking in a recent interview, Shoday explained that Portable’s influence goes beyond just releasing songs, pointing to his bold personality and raw online presence as reasons for his lasting relevance.
“Artists like Portable, before he will go down and not trend again, it’ll be long,” Shoday said. “Music is far beyond a song. People need to know who you are. People need to know your personality.”
According to him, Portable’s unfiltered way of sharing his life keeps fans connected. “This person doesn’t care. He posts on Instagram like WhatsApp,” he added, describing the singer’s fearless social media style.
Shoday also reminded people that when Portable first came into the spotlight, many thought he would fade within a year. “When he came out, people thought he was only going to trend for a year and that’s that, but till today he’s still buzzing,” he noted.
He further explained how Portable has turned controversies into opportunities, saying: “Every controversy, there’s a song he drops. He drops a song for it.”
With his boldness, fearless personality, and ability to stay relevant through controversy, Portable has continued to defy expectations and maintain his place in Nigeria’s music scene.
