Destiny Banks’ debut studio work “Never Give Up” was released on May 26, 2023. The EP has seven exceptional tracks, one of which is Stronger (Remix), featuring Nigerian talented singer Timiboi. Notably, the release of the “Never Give Up” EP is a significant effort for the developing diverse singer.

The EP’s songs showcase Destiny Banks’ distinct style, which blends pop music and Afrobeats. Despite this, the album is quite soothing and has a life-filled vibe. Read on as we dive into a detailed review of the 7-track EP, ‘Never Give Up’.

Detailed Track-by-Track Breakdown of The ‘Never Give Up‘ EP:

1. Hosanna

In this song, Destiny Banks thank God for his great journey and all the blessings he has gotten this far in life.

Destiny Banks says: In an age where we have continual access around the world, it only takes a moment to see that the shout of hosanna is still needed. At this moment there are people living in poverty, oppression, and hopelessness. While they may not say the word hosanna, they are certainly in need of saving and many do cry out on a daily basis for some glimmer of hope.

2. NGU

NGU’ is a very conscious sound that talks about a lot of things, touching different parts of life; happening in this world right now. In the song, Destiny Banks is trying to inform my own people who don’t know about this. He says: This is what I really want to do with my music in a way that I will motivate people with my sound. Life isn’t about talk; it’s about commitment. A dream isn’t worth anything until you try to put it into practice. When you dedicate yourself to your dream, whatever it may be, you find yourself at the intersection of perception and reality. This idea has probably existed in your mind for years, taking on a particular shape and existing entirely as a function of your own imagination. Now, when you put it to the test, it’s time to get real. It’s time to give birth to the idea and fully commit to nurturing that dream the same way you would nurture a child.

3. JO

On the particular song, “Destiny Banks is me telling a girl, Na beg I dy beg o, You make me lose control o, You make a bad man lose guard o.

This song was produced by Osas Beatz. And, according to Banks, recording this song was just a whim.

4. Omo Ologo

Destiny Banks explains in this song: “Omo Ologo” means a glorious child, A glorious child is a destiny child. He is God’s beloved from heaven. A glorious child lives a golden-designed life by God, A life that is full of honey. He is a God-sent child to be a shield and Messiah to many people. He is someone to be celebrated. God deposited outstanding grace and favor in some people’s lives, which makes their destiny to be different because it is filled with glory.

You might be thinking that why are you suffering. Many things might be wrong in your life. Your heart may be troubled and feel terrified. You may feel rejected, dejected, and disappointed. Your life may be full of sorrow and sadness. With this occurrence you are going through, it means you have glory deposited in your life. God created you for a special purpose, which pertains to a greater height. Before any man can be called a king, he has to pass through many problems. Any man destined to sit on the throne of glory may experience a lot of difficulties in life.

5. I No Go Rest

“‘I no go rest’ is a street vibe. On this EP, Banks says he is trying to balance the taste of the project. ‘I No Go Rest’ is a naughty song. I compose this song with Osas Beatz and he also produced it. I quoted the direction that I really wanted the beat to take people. Because of the kind of person I am, I feel it’s not really necessary to hide what is on your mind or to hide your ways. From this side, freedom of speech is not free, but I know it should be free. I’m just trying to be very, very straight with my emotions, with my feelings, and with my expression. ‘I no go rest ’ is like, ‘Babe will you give me your number? If you don’t, I won’t sleep and I will not be happy about that.

6. Trenches Boy

Banks explains the following about this song: “Where I come from, it’s a different ball game entirely. Trenches Boy is telling people, I can be here doing some star boy things, but I know it’s crazy in the hood. I know how things are going. I know where it hurts, and how you guys are living. I understand it.’ There are levels to these things. If it gets bigger, you have to work harder to sustain it. If you get to some stage, if you see some things, you get inspired to be better. This goes to those who are on the streets too. They hustle the way they see things in all, we all have to just be happy.

7. Stronger (Remix) Ft Timiboi

Banks says “Stronger” is a story about us; the youngins, right now. From where I come from, everybody’s like, they want to get it on time and they want to get it right. Most times, it’s not like that. While you are pushing for these things, better things will come the way that will distract you. They say, ‘I’m coming out stronger, I can’t wait any longer. I worked on that song for over three weeks while recording, because I had to be sure of what I wanted to say. I had to be sure of where I’m going. I had to be sure of the kind of message I’m passing to the people. It’s really a nice thing to work like that and take my time.”
