Teni Ft Mayorkun, Costa Titch, Ch’cco – Maitama
Teni, a Nigerian singer-songwriter, has released her new single ‘Maitama‘ through Platoon. Jay Synths and Bigfish produced the track.
‘Maitama,’ the follow-up to her previous singles ‘Little & Legendary,’ comes hot on the heels of her COLORS Show performance, Trouble.
Teni’s distinctive and honeyed vocals entwine with the sounds of the long drum in ‘Maitama,’ which leans into the South African house sound. On this track, Teni embraces her native vernacular, which she layers over an infectious beat surrounded by high-pitched piano melodies and rippled baselines. Guest vocals on the single include Nigeria’s very own Lagos mayor, singer Mayorkun, and South African artists, rapper Costa Titch and multi-award-winning singer Chicco.
