#Grammys2023: Burna Boy Receives Two Nominations For Global Music Performance And Global Music Album

Burna Boy, a Nigerian singer, has received two new nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards.

On Tuesday, November 15, the Recording Academy announced nominees for their upcoming 65th edition, and Burna Boy received two nods for his “Love Damini” album in the category of Best Global Music Album and “Last Last” in the category of Best Global Performance.

Burna Boy will compete against other artistes in order to clinch the Best Global Music Performance category. Some other artistes nominated for the category include Arooj Aftab and Anoushka Shankar for “Udhero Na,” Matt B and Eddy Kenzo for “Gimme Love,” Rocky Dawuni with “Neva Bow Down” by Blvk H3ro, Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode (Bayethe).

 

 

For the Best Global Music Album category, the Nigerian singer would have to battle it out with the likes of Berklee Indian Ensemble (Shuruaat), Angélique Kidjo and Ibrahim Maalouf (Queen of Sheba), Anoushka Shankar, Metropole Orkest, and Jules Buckley featuring Manu Delago (“Between Us … (Live), and Masa Takumi (Sakura).

 

With these nominations, Burna Boy now has six Grammy nominations overall, and one Grammy win for his album Twice As Tall in the Best Global Music Album category in 2021.
