Nigerian superstar , Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has achieved a new milestones with his global tune ‘Essence’ which he features on the Billboard chart.
This new achievement has made Wizkid and Tems continue their rapid rise to the top of African music royalty.
The award-winning singer and songwriter have bagged another career milestone with his chart-topping record, “Essence” which has vocal assistance from the Damages hitmaker
It has been records upon records for Big Wiz and Tems with the hit song ‘Essence’ as it was confirmed that a new record had been set on the Billboard chart.
Billboard confirmed Wizkid and Tems’ ‘Essence’ had set a new and unrivalled chart record in an official announcement on Friday, August 12, 2022.
‘Essence’ became the first and the only song to spend a year in the top 10 of the Billboard R&B/ Hip Hop airplay chart.

The song entered the tier on the chart dated Aug. 21, 2021, and has never left – a run of 52 consecutive weeks as of the list dated Aug. 13, 2012. The anniversary is secured as the song slides 3-4 despite a 5% gain in weekly audience to 16.7 million in the week ending Aug. 4, according to Luminate.
