Popular Nollywood Film Maker Dies In Lagos-Ibadan Car Accident

Popular film maker Edgard Leroy has died in a car crash along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway barely a month after winning his first Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award.

The Cameroonian-born film maker was on his way to Ibadan, Oyo State for a movie shoot when the unfortunate incident happened.

His friend and partner, David Akande said that he was involved in the auto crash that occurred on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Shagamu end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Born Edgard Le Roy Nouke Ngedemon on July 13, 1995, in Cameroon, the filmmaker died a few weeks before his 27th birthday.

He’s the first Cameroonian and filmmaker to win the AMVCAs and for his first feature film in a totally foreign language.

Meanwhile, the movie industry has been thrown into mourning again after one of its own, Veteran film maker, Wale Fanu, reportedly died.

Zagaempire reports that Jide Bisayo, an associate of the late filmmaker announced on Sunday.

Before death, the 72-year-old veteran, who lived with sickle cell, was the managing director of one of the foremost production houses in Nollywood, Cinekraft.
