YBNL, established in 2012, is a record label owned by popular Nigerian rapper-cum-singer Olamide.

In 2020, it signed a distribution deal with international music distribution and publishing company Empire.

Olamide has brought out a number of talented artists in Nigeria—some he officially signed, some he only helped. Popular Nigerian singers Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Lyta, among others, was formerly signed to YBNL.

The purpose of this article, therefore, is to show you a list of all the artistEs presently signed to YBNL.

1. Olamide

Olamide, is the honcho of YBNL. He’s a successful businessman and outstanding rapper whose consistency over the years has cemented his validity in the hearts of millions of music lovers in Nigeria and across the country.

His positions at YBNL, as both the honcho and an artiste, is similar to Roc Nation’s chairman and artiste positions held by American rapper Jay Z.


2Fireboy DML

Adedamola Adefolahan, better known by the name of Fireboy DML, is a talented Nigerian singer and songwriter. He got his breakthrough when he signed a recording deal with YBNL in 2018 and his first official song ‘Jealous’ appeared on YBNL’s 2018 compilation album, ‘YBNL Mafia Family’. The song was later rereleased as a single in March 2019.

Few months after that, his debut album, ‘Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps’, released. He fast followed the successful album with another critically acclaimed album, ‘Apollo’ released in 2020.

Speaking of crossing boundaries, Fireboy is a genius. The remix of his outstanding single of 2021, ‘Peru’ with British singer Ed Sheeran won him a UK platinum, an entry in the US Billboard Top 100, and a collaboration with the legend Madonna.


3. Asake

Born Ahmed Ololade Asake in the late 1990s, Asake’s ride to YBNL actually began in the year 2020 when he released a freestyle, ‘Lady’, that went so viral that Nigerian influencers, like Tunde Ednut, reposted it.

Olamide announced Asake’s signing to YBNL in February 2022. Before then, they had worked together on the remix of ‘Omo Ope’.

In an interview, Asake revealed that he begged Olamide for 2 years before he got signed.


3. JayBoi

JayBoi first appeared on Olamide’s album titled ‘999’ released in 2020. Olamide in a Twitter post telling how he met JayBoi wrote:

‘People should watch out for jayboi

met him in abeokuta IBD hotel. He served me drinks and started freestyling for hours, he didn’t wanna leave I just had to put him on .. Cant wait to see him shine


JayBoi was signed alongside Asake in February 2022. JayBoi has released a single ‘Yeobaye’ under YBNL featuring Olamide.
