PHOTOS: FIREBOY DML DELIVERS AN ENERGETIC NEW YEAR SHOW AT FIRST EVER “THE FIRE CONCERT”

LAGOS 4th January 2022- The Balmoral Convention Centre was an impressive
spectacle on Sunday 2nd January, as award-winning global artiste, Fireboy DML
headlined a captivating set at his first-ever headlining music showcase.
The Fire Concert, the first of many, witnessed a massive turn up as fans, music lovers
and guests assembled in droves to experience a night with the rave of the moment,
featuring intimate live music delivered by the continent’s music luminary.

 

 

Opening performances from Zamorra and Jaido P, set the tone for the night with
special renditions, whilst the audience chorused with loud cheers and excitement.

Soundz, Evelle and Dwin the Stoic, carried the evening further with inspiring musical
displays, moving the crowd with a live set.

 

Powering the hall with a disruptive set, DJ Tgarbs provided seamless transitions with
hit songs and crowd favourites. Jimmie alongside MC Hyenna engaged the audience

to light interactions, followed closely by an energetic introduction of the star of the
night.

Fireboy DML, a generational talent, is reckoned for his soft and powerful musical
presence with impressive penmanship as evident in his chart-topping discography.
Welcomed with emotional screams and applause, the young maestro hit the stage
adorned in a stylish piece, with smiles and an address of gratitude towards excited
fans and supporters.

The atmosphere was palpable, as Fireboy DML settled down to the business of the day
with the track Need You to commence a nearly 4-hour set of riveting live music.
Moving from hit songs – Like I Do, Vibration, Jealous, Gbas Gbos, Wait and See,
many were bursting forth with celebration, miming and retro dancing as Scatter filled
the space.

Rocking the crowd into the morning, DJ Factor intersected with a number of nostalgic
selections, ushering the audience into yet another comeback from Fireboy DML; who
supplied more crowd favourites off the Apollo album and a special encore
performance of smash hit – Peru to close off an unforgettable night of good music.

A number of Nigeria’s favourite celebrities and influencers from Reminisce,
Basketmouth, DJ Enimoney Denrele, Moet Abebe, Nicole Abebe and shockingly for
the first time to ever attend a concert; OLAMIDE BADOO, were spotted in the

audience, intensely getting down to good music from the man of the hour while
enjoying tasty treats and the richness of Johnnie Walker.
It was an all-round great experience with Guinness and Pepsi offering complimentary
refreshments, a silent disco session while early guests waited for the show to kick off.
Organized by Red&Axla Management, “The Fire Experience” continues with a global
tour kick- starting in February.
