#RAPE… “I Am Up For A Peaceful Protest” – Mercy Aigbe Laments The Death Of Uwa Omozuwa

Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has lamented the death of UNIBEN undergraduate, Uwa Omozuwa, who was raped and killed in a church.

The brutal rape and murder of Uwa Omozuwa, has been condemned by Nigerians all over the country. The victim was said to have been raped on Friday 29th May near Ikpoba Hill in Benin City, at her church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

According to reports gathered, the deceased had gone to the church to read as she prepared for the possible school resumption after months of staying at home as a result of the lockdown order.

The perpetrators were said to have attacked her at the RCCG Ohovbe road branch, raped and smashed her head with a fire extinguisher, leaving her for dead.

Reacting to the killing, Mercy Aigbe announced her readiness for a peaceful protest to get justice, according to her, it is time to demand for justice for those who have fell victim. Mercy Aigbe said;

“I am up for a peaceful protest! Petition!

So long as our voices are heard and demand for justice is met! I will also encourage us to use our platforms to push for change ….. Ki lo de! O ti su mi! Infact we are tired!!!!!! Enough is Enough! We can really do better as humans! sad just sad*

Parents the onus falls on us to instill a lot of values and morals in our kids!!!!!! We are the most important educators our children will ever have hence we must start talking honestly with them at an early age.

We should let them know that affirmative consent is a very important prerequisite to any sexual behavior! Our boys must be taught that CONSENT is very important and No means NO!…….This is all so upsetting!
