WHY PHOTO AFRICA?
We believe every individual has an inborn gift that set them apart from others and these gift lies in the uniqueness of our Self Beauty and self Identity. We want to emphasize these gifts by and grow these talents. Putting reality in a picture representation is the essence of Photo Africa; bringing together different consciousness and ideologies to promote multiculturalism is the focus.
PhotoAfrica aims to raise strong, committed young men and women who are willing to represent the community as custodians and repositories of their people’s collective ideology.
WHAT IS PHOTO AFRICA?
PhotoAfrica is an online Photo Contest deemed to be for both male and female from the ages of 18 and above, on a set that showcases Self Beauty, Glamour, Style, and Culture. In its all-encompassing essence, PhotoAfrica sets a presidium as the first PHOTO CONTEST which has not been made for only professionals or the virtuosos in the fashion and modeling industry. It welcomes participants from all walks of life as its aim is to dim the objectification of beauty to racial identities and standards and on the long run strives to restore the fluidity in the appreciation of our culture and self-attribute. Also, the shaming of body sizes on the altar of mediocre social standards is highly deflated.
The main purpose of Photo Africa is to encourage the younger generation; who, for the most part, have lived in Africa and beyond, to become more in touch with their culture and identity. The contest is not your conventional beauty pageant; rather, it emphasizes SELF BEAUTY SELF IMAGE AND SELF IDENTITY. PhotoAfrica provides an opportunity for the community to come together provides a platform for the young generation to showcase their magic. This type of program profoundly encourages African awareness, and we hope you would like to be a part of making it happen!
