Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Tems has been confirmed as the Executive Music Producer and Curator of the official soundtrack for the highly anticipated “Children of Blood and Bone” movie. The achievement also makes her the first woman to executive produce a soundtrack of this scale.
In addition to leading the soundtrack, Tems contributed three brand-new original songs to the project, further expanding her role beyond being an award-winning artist.
Film director Gina Prince-Bythewood praised Tems for her creative vision, saying she wanted the singer to lead the soundtrack because of her unique talent. According to the director, the final soundtrack is an outstanding body of work with “absolutely no skips.”
The soundtrack also features some of Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeats stars, including Ayra Starr, BNXN, and Fireboy DML. Meanwhile, Burna Boy joins the project as the Executive Music Consultant, working alongside Tems to help shape the overall sound and direction.
Based on the bestselling novel by Tomi Adeyemi, “Children of Blood and Bone” is one of the most anticipated movie releases of the year. With a soundtrack led by Tems and supported by some of Afrobeats’ biggest names, the project is expected to make a strong impact both in music and film.
