Rising Nigerian artist Yungsup, alongside versatile producer Realspin, has released a new 4-track EP titled Carnage. The project showcases a bold mix of street reality, personal emotion, youthful rebellion and the excitement of nightlife, all wrapped in rich Afro-inspired sounds.
The EP opens with “Yawa”, a high-energy Afrobeat track capturing the chaos of the streets and the hunger to rise above challenges. The song’s vivid lyrics paint a picture of daily struggles while motivating listeners to push forward.
Next, “Lavida” slows the tempo with a smooth R&B groove, exploring themes of love, intimacy and the joy of freedom. The track celebrates life, romance and shared dreams, offering a softer, melodic contrast to the EP’s energetic opening.
“Right Now” provides a socially conscious moment on the EP. Fusing Afro-dancehall elements with bold lyricism, the track addresses youth empowerment, civic awareness, and recalls the 2020 Toll Gate protests, honoring those who lost their lives while fighting for justice.
The EP closes with “Sekkle & Bop”, a carefree Afrobeat anthem centred on partying, enjoying life and embracing good vibes. It captures the spirit of Lagos nightlife and encourages listeners to live in the moment.
With Yungsup taking the lead as both artist and co-producer, and Realspin providing dynamic production, Carnage highlights their creative chemistry and versatility. The EP moves seamlessly between activism, love, street realism, and celebration, positioning Yungsup as an artist unafraid to speak truth while delivering infectious sounds.
