Premier League Reveals August 2025 Player of the Month Shortlist

The Premier League has unveiled the shortlist of players competing for August 2025 Player of the Month, the first award of the 2025/26 season.

This monthly recognition highlights the player who has stood out for their club during the month. The winner is determined by combining public votes with insights from a panel of football experts. The final result will be announced on Friday, September 12, 2025. Voting is open until 12:00 BST on Monday, September 8.

August 2025 Nominees:

• Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal) – Made an impact with a goal against Manchester United and two assists in a 5-0 win over Leeds

• Hugo Ekitiké (Liverpool) – Hit the ground running: scored and assisted on his debut, then added another goal at Newcastle

• Jack Grealish (Everton) – Delivered four assists in three games since joining on loan, leading the league

• Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace) – Key to Palace’s solid defence with two away clean sheets, plus a long-range goal in a 3-0 win at Aston Villa

• Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – Scored in each of City’s first three league matches, including a double against Wolves

• João Pedro (Chelsea) – Tied for most goal contributions in August, delivering two goals and two assists including in derby wins

• Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth) – Opened his campaign with a brace at Liverpool and added another goal and assist in a win over Wolves

• Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool) – Impressed playing at right-back, producing a stunning free-kick to beat Arsenal and a standout display against Newcastle
